Muriel Ledger
August 4, 1926 — October 16, 2019
In the early hours on Wednesday, October 16th of 2019, Muriel Ledger passed with peace and grace at her home in Sandy, UT at the young age of 93. Our loving Mum, Grandma and friend to many will be missed beyond words.
Muriel Rosa Mary Crowe was born an only child on August 4, 1926 to Irene Kemp & Lawrence Crowe in Kingston upon Thames, England.
At a young age, the Second World War broke out in London. Muriel would spend her nights in an Air-Raid Shelter to stay safe from the bombings.
In her early 20’s, after the war ended, Muriel and her Mother emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah where her Mother had friends to sponsor them in order to get a Visa. Shortly thereafter, Muriel’s future husband Ron Ledger moved from England to be with her. On May 2nd of 1953, Ron & Muriel were married at St. Mark’s Cathedral. Together Ron & Muriel had three beautiful children before he passed at the young age of 47 in October of 1976. Muriel never married again as her heart always belonged to Ron.
Muriel reminded us all to be kind to each other and to make friends wherever you go. She was known for her cooking especially her homemade Cornish pasties and sausage rolls. Between traveling, volunteering her time, knitting and knowing all the British Royalty gossip, Muriel always made room for four o’ clock tea time. She had the greenest thumb you will ever know. Her garden was like her family, her pride & joy.
Muriel’s spirit is carried on by her four loving children, Gary (Audry), Carol Ann (Armand) & Victoria (Marcus) & Gillian (Keith). She had eight grandchildren who adored her as much as she did them, Ashley, Sharayah, Garrett, Mallory, Korbin, Taylor, Brianna & Gavin. Muriel was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Maliya. She leaves behind many cousins and friends that span across the world.
Muriel is now reunited with her husband, Ron, and an extended amount of family and friends. We all know she is having the party of her dreams in Heaven.
Muriel leaves us rich in memories and stories that will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM for all family and her many friends…
