Morris Lewis

April 5, 1931 — April 14, 2021

1931~2021
Morris Robert Lewis, age 90, passed away on April 14, 2021 of causes incident to age. Morris was born April 5, 1931 in Emery, Utah to Robert T and Christy Lewis. He married Geraldine Mortensen on November 10th, 1951.
Morris was drafted into the Army in January 1952. After finishing basic training at Camp Roberts in California, he came home on a two-week furlough and he and Gerry were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple on June 25th, 1952. Morris spent the next 18 months serving at Ft. Hood Texas, as a caterpillar mechanic, working and repairing tanks. After returning home, he attended LDS Business College and worked at Granite Furniture as a salesman. He then took on many different furniture sales rep jobs, and eventually found his work home at R.C. Willey in Murray, Utah, where he worked until he retired.
Morris was a farmer by heart and loved the long hours of work and raising livestock. As a young boy he entered many of his calves in the Utah State Fair and won several Championship ribbons, which he treasured. When the travel and farm became too much for dad, he decided to sell the farm and retire for good to spend time at home with his family.
Morris was always ready to help anyone he could with whatever the problem was, he was the ultimate good Samaritan. He loved making canes in the shape of a saw handle and no matter where he was, if he saw anyone that looked like they needed a cane to walk with, he had one to give them. Morris was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many callings in every organization of Winder West 3rd ward for close to 60 years. Because of failing health, he and Gerry moved into the Coventry Assisted Living until his death.
Morris is survived by his wife, Gerry, 3 wonderful children; Sue (Russ) Outsen, Richard (Amy) Lewis, and Sherrie Lewis, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
