Montgomery Lyman North, 88, passed away November 4, 2013 at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. Monte was born May 5, 1925 in Salt lake City, Utah to Warren Lyman North and Hazel Mary Montgomery. Monte married Anna Marie Pearson Wood in the Salt Lake LDS Temple August 16, 1946.
Monte served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater as a Motor-Machinist Mate 3d Class. He finished his service obligation in the U.S. Army Reserve.
He is survived by his four children, Scott (Tamara) North, Paul North, Robert (Nancy) North, Barbara (Miles) Smith, his sister Maxine North Keller, 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. His wife Anna, sister Phyllis North Gerard, brother Dallas Warren North, and grandson Kyle Smith precede him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Drive. Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Holladay Memorial Park.
