Mohenoa Masi

Mohenoa Iolotele O Lapaha Masi passed away peacefully at his home on July 3rd 2019 surround by his loved ones.
Mohenoa was born on September 11, 1947 to Nehumi and Ana Masi in Tongatapu, Tonga.
He married the love of his life Latu Vaisioa Masi in 1968 and had two beautiful children Nehumi Leka Masi and Mele Mafi Vaitohi.
In 1999 they were blessed with Lafimoa Toa Afu as an addition to the family.
In 1973 Mohenoa & his wife moved to the U.S. (Salt Lake City, Utah) for a better life and became a member of the 1st United Methodist Church.
With his strong beliefs and dedication to his family, church and country. In 1978 he was a part of the few who with the will and determination to start the 1st Tongan United Methodist Church on 4 South.
In 1999 the Kalapu Kolo Kakala was established and based at his home. It was to bring our fellow people together and to help those in need back in our homeland.
Mohenoa was a loving, caring and generous man whom always made sure people knew that anyone was welcome to his home. He was also a hardworking man, who not only provided for his kids but also his grandkids.
His family meant the world to him and the time he spent with his grandkids was priceless.
Mohenoa is survived by his daughters Melemafi(Ika) and Lafimoa(Lani)
His Grandkids: Mohenoa Leka, Latu Sii, Vaiulamila, Elikena, Loufau, Veti Sii
Pauline Leka, Folauhola, Maika, Seini and Tasi Ramz.
His Sisters: Mele Mafi Taufalele & Lesieli Lakataha Folaumoeloa
He is preceded in death by his parents (Nehumi & Ana Masi), wife (Latu Vaisioa), only son (Nehumi Leka)
and only brother (Seti)
A viewing will take place Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 10:00 – 1:00 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, UT, 84121, with a funeral to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT, 84123.Service Information
