Milton C. Romney, (99 years old) passed away on May 2, 2024 in Murray, Utah. He was born on June 14, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Park Romney and Mary Vilate Lee. He married Carrie Louise Kowallis on March 18, 1978.
Milton loved to swim, exercise, camp, and hike. He loved nature. He loved the beach and the mountains. He served in WWII as a Naval officer on the USS Uhlmann, a Fletcher class destroyer, and was in Tokyo Bay the day the Japanese signed the surrender documents on board the USS Missouri. He served in the Central Pacific Mission, Japanese speaking, mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington. He was a loving and generous father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Milton is survived by his sons, Dan Romney and Park Romney, daughters Becky Collet, Victoria Diak, and Celeste Bird (Alan); his stepchildren, Carrie Lynn Glover, Keith Glover (Karen), Shawnna Nay (Ron); 23 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Louise Romney, his stepdaughter, Bonnie Glover, and his grandson, James Sowell.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
Interment following services at 12:00 PM at the Utah Veteran’s Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
