Our loving father, Miloslav Novak, 61, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Milo was born and spent his youth in Czechoslovakia until his immigration to the United States in 1984. Milo was born into the loving Novak family of Josef, Ludmila and older brother Josef (Pepa) on November 3, 1953. Milo had a happy childhood filled with family and friends, playing soccer, studying and traveling.
In 1981, he married Vera Kambova. The two spent their time exploring the beauty of the countries around them before welcoming their first daughter, Jana, in May of 1982. After a challenging one-year journey to bring his family to the United States for a new life and the best opportunities, they settled together in Salt Lake City, Utah. Two years into their courageous journey, Milo and Vera welcomed their second daughter, Nicolle, in November of 1987.
Milo’s life was filled with a passion for his family and friends, his love of the great outdoors, a strong dedication to his work, building and crafting through the art of woodwork, and spending winter weekends at Solitude teaching his daughters how to ski.
Milo and Vera divorced in 2002, but they remained friends and important in each other’s lives. He passed on to his daughters his love for exploring the world, experiencing new cultures, and his love for the outdoors. One of his greatest passions was skiing in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and sharing that joy with his loved ones.
Milo is survived by his two daughters, Jana and Nicolle, his brother Pepa and his former spouse Vera Novakova.
