Mildred Helen Deters age 88, passed away on July 4, 2023, in Taylorsville Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 2, 1935, to Fred and Ida Henning Deters.
Mildred was a very sweet and valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served two missions, first for Pioneer Stake from September 4, 1956, to March 4, 1958, and second, the North German Mission from February 21, 1960, to March 16, 1962. She had a service-oriented heart of gold. She accepted and was willing to serve in the numerous callings that were asked of her. She served in the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society organizations and as the Ward Librarian. She diligently served in the name extraction program and as a Temple worker which she loved dearly.
Her hobbies included sewing, doing puzzles, music, reading and making sure she didn’t miss any of her family and friends on their birthday and special occasions. Her family meant the world to her.
Mildred is survived by her sister, Elaine Miles; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Ruth Deters, Hanna Deters and Marion Rynearson, and her brothers: John Deters and Hyrum Deters.
Funeral services will be held for Mildred at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Westbrook Chapel, 6354 South 3200 West. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday, July 14 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Memorial Lake Hills Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.Service Information
