Michelle Yvette Tuchman, age 64, died on September 26, 2016, in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on November 4, 1951, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Grace Virginia Andrews and William Dean Andrews. She grew up on a farm in Stevensville, Michigan and graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1969. She married Louis Mervyn Tuchman on June 9, 1979 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Yvette dedicated her life to the compassionate care of others. Empathy and kindness were the guiding lights of her life, bringing warmth to all those she touched. In her later years, Yvette made a career of caring for the elderly, always with humor and infinite patience, treating them with dignity and respect. She made deep and enduring connections with those she cared for, often becoming as close to them as kin. Most recently, since 2009, she worked through Danville Support Services to help those in need.
Yvette dearly loved all animals and had many animal companions throughout her life. She took great joy in regaling others about her pets’ antics and adventures. While she loved all her animal friends, there was one special dog that held her heart: R.J., who passed several years ago.
She enjoyed cooking and sharing recipes with her sisters and many of the people in her compassionate care community. She adored musicals and comedies and had the most joyful, exuberant laugh. She cared deeply for her family and was an unending river of love and support. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for having the warmth of Yvette’s heart in our lives.
She is survived by her sisters Andy Telynor Andrews of Burns, Oregon, Ginger Jeanette Andrews of Pensacola, Florida, and her twin sister Rochelle Yvonne Danjuma of Boston, Massachusetts; her niece Ara Lucia Ashburne of Chicago, Illinois, and nephew Orion Danjuma of New York City, New York. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Mervyn Tuchman.
