Michael Watts

July 26, 1986 — February 25, 2016

John “Michael” Watts
John “Michael” Watts left us too soon at the age of 29. His last residence was in East Lansing Michigan and passed away on Thursday February 25, 2016.
Michael was born on July 26, 1986 in Murray, Utah to his loving parents John and Joe Ann Watts who adored him. His elder siblings Caroline and her husband John Parker, Adam and his wife Ruth Watts, Tammy Watts, and Wayne and his wife Melissa Watts are left to remember his infectious smile and his love for life. Cherished by all, he was the baby of the family.
Michael graduated from Riverton High School in the class of 2005, where his triumphs in wrestling are still memorialized on the walls of the school. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan with the class of 2009 where he attended on a wrestling scholarship, a four year starter on the #2 team in the nation when he was recruited.
Michael was always going to the gym and loved working out and it was important to him to take care of his physique.
He also enjoyed kicking back and enjoying some good music, and strumming (or beating on) his guitar. Anyone that watched him play saw him do so with passion.
Michael had a way of lighting up the room with his quick wit and his open smiles. He could bring light to some of the worst times. A candle light vigil was held by his friends in Lansing on the 26th of February, 2016 at midnight and “Heart Of Gold” was written in chalk next to his picture. Anyone who knew him would have seen how true it was. He had one of those personalities that could warm you right up.
His parents, His surviving grandparents Alberta and Dale Watts, Phil Wigger, Lilly Goff,  his siblings, nieces and nephews, his friends, and the lives of those he touched with his warm heart will all miss him dearly and are still struggling with the enormity of this tragedy. No words can rectify what has transpired and no amount of grieving can bring his light back to this world.
The service will be held at the LDS ward house located at 12210 South 2700 West in Riverton, Utah on Friday, March 4th at 11am.  Viewings will be from 7-9 pm on Thursday and 10-10:30 am on Friday, March 3rd.  Michael’s friends, family and those who were close to him are welcome to attend.
He will be buried in Lake Hills Memorial Park Cemetery on 10055 South State Street in a family plot.
