Merlene Parker Daniels

Merlene Parker Daniels 94 years of age passed away on November 30, 2021. Born October 7, 1927 in Granger Utah to James A. Parker and Janet Emma Grant. She married her eternal sweetheart, Joe A. Daniels on March 21, 1947, in the Manti Temple.
She began her working life as a telephone operator, when that was an essential job, while still attending high school.
After her marriage, and relocation to Salt Lake City she, her husband and father were all employed at the Premium Oil Company. She then moved on to motherhood raising two daughters and one son. Once they were raised she returned to the workforce and retired from The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints accounting department.
She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served as the Ward President of Primary and Relief Society as well as the Stake Young Women’s President. She was a loving visiting teacher until her 90th year.
Her true love was her family. She is survived by her younger sister, Georgia P. Daniels, her daughters, Jolene Bishop and Susan Daniels and her son, Bart (Patti) Daniels, 11 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Arlene and Janet, brothers, Lawrence and Grant and her son-in-law, David Bishop.
Family and friends may call from 9:30-10:30 AM, just prior to the funeral service at 11:00 AM Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, 9880 South 3100 East, Sandy, UT.
Internment will follow at Memorial Mountain View cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT
