Merle Dean Hildreth

Merle Dean Hildreth, age 89 passed away on February 10, 2025 in Layton, Utah. He was born on February 12, 1935 in Victor, Colorado to Harry and Mary Hildreth.

He married Josephine (Jo) Doman on February 16, 1963.

Merle was an avid bowler. He loved to fish, hunt, and go camping with family and friends; especially to Mt. Nebo. He loved singing in the SPEBSQSA and the Barber Shop Quartet. He loved all animals and will be greatly missed by his grand puppies; Max and Kia.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Hildreth, son-in-law Nate Weeks, son & daughter-in-law Randy & Carrie Hildreth, grandchildren; Tony Weeks, Mikala & Cambridge Standing, Julai & Avery McLaren and Cody Hildreth. Great grandsons; Carson, Corbin, and Krew Weeks. Along with nine other grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and daughter Shelley.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and parents in-law, his beautiful wife; Jo Hildreth, daughter; Julie Sorensen. Along with sisters, brothers, other in-laws, and many friends.

A graveside service for Merle will be on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary & Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful. Friends and family may gather for a viewing one hour prior to the service in the small gathering room at the cemetery. Merle will be laid to rest next to his sweet Jo.
