Melvin “Mel” Thomas Broadhead

Mel passed away on May 30, 2016. He was born October 14, 1945.
Mel dearly loved his wife Dorothy of 44 years, his kids, grandkids, and the Lord Jesus Christ. After Dorothy’s passing his special companion was Jenny Kellogg. Mel believed happiness was a choice and he reflected that in his life no matter his health or his circumstances. He always made time for everyone and he loved whenever friends or family came to visit. He was well known for leaving L-o-n-g and humorous VM messages if he hadn’t heard from you in a while.
He resided in UT and WY.
During his lifetime he had a love for raising animals which “kept him going.” This passion included: horses, ponies, budgies, rabbits, peacocks, Australian Shepherds, sheep, and pygmy goats. He also loved hunting and leatherwork.
He is survived by his children Elaina & Dwain Wade, Teresa & Jim Newton, Scott & Annette Broadhead, Tammy Carlston, Kirk Broadhead, and a special nephew Cory Michael McPhie. He has 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister: Ken & Von Broadhead, Ray & LaRae Broadhead, and Darlene Green.
He is preceded in death by his sweetheart Dorothy, an infant daughter Diane, his parents Eric & Eldora and his sister Vera. He will be greatly missed!
Graveside services will be held at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
