Melenaite Pasi

November 16, 1935 — May 25, 2020

Melenaite Pasi peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father on May 25, 2020 in her home in Salt Lake City surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members.
Melenaite was born on November 16, 1935 in Pangai, Ha’apai, Tonga to Paula Tu’i’onetoa Lavulo and ‘Ana Tamutamu Panuve.
Melenaite married her eternal sweet heart, Taniela Mafile’o Pasi, on June 30, 1956 in Pangai, Ha’apai, Tonga. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her heritage and posterity. A woman of many talents, who had put her greatest efforts towards her family. Her teachings are alive in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, the fabric of her immortal legacy. They are the beneficiaries of all her sacrifices, life lessons, and wisdom.
As a young woman, she excelled at net ball and was a beautiful dancer. She had a great sense of humor and was loved by her classmates. She later became a gifted seamstress, baker and cook. She kept a neat home and made sure there was food for anyone who came over to visit. She had a big heart and all who knew her could feel her love for them. She spent much of her time serving in multiple callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While serving in Tonga, it was not uncommon to find Melenaite, and those she served with, walking miles and miles to visit ward members.
Melenaite’s love was unmatched and, above all else, her light was a beacon to many. She was and will always be the superwoman of her family. When you heard her voice, you immediately felt her heart. She was a God fearing, woman of faith who centered her life around Jesus Christ. There was no doubt you’d feel the touch of angels when she bore her testimony. Her love has been and will always be imprinted in the hearts of all who knew her. Thank you Melenaite for reflecting the pure love of Christ towards all who were lucky enough to know you.
