Megan Daly

Our dearest Megan was born on December 29, 1982 in Calcutta, India, and came to Salt Lake City, UT, on February 27, 1983 to join her forever family: her mother, Alyce Daly Brannan, sister Amy and ‘other mother’ LaDene Larsen. She died unexpectedly on July 7, 2014. She graduated from Highland High School and the University of Utah with a BS degree in Economics. She had a real talent for and skills in computer technology and was a computer tech for 9 years. She was our go-to person at home for all things computer.
Megan loved reading, movies, TV shows, roller blading/bicycling with her friends, and playing her drums. She liked snowboarding, but really didn’t like any other part of winter. One of her favorite past times was driving through and hiking in East Canyon. Megan liked to cook and became an expert griller. We called her our little carnivore because her favorite food was rare steak.
At age 6, she adopted her cat, Putsin, and he was her constant companion for 17 years. She had a passion for travel and reveled in going to new places. She especially loved Paris, New York and road trips to California. While being in a group was not her thing, she had several very close friends that meant so much to her. Megan was a wonderful, intelligent, beautiful young woman and we who are left behind, who loved her so very much, will miss her more than words can express.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Lois and Lou Rothman, Grandparents Ruth and Dannie Larsen, Aunt Carol Brown, Uncle Kenneth Larsen, and Cousin Kailee Buirgy Hoopes.
She is survived by her Mother Alyce Brannan, Step-father Frank Brannan, Sister Amy Daly Lucero (Cameron), Nephews Remi and Noah Lucero, ‘other mother’ LaDene Larsen. Cousins: Lennis Lyon; Tation Greenleaf; Leisha Buirgy; Kara Sunita Matthews; James Daly; Robin Sue Benniger; Alicia Daly; Tom Daly; Patrick Daly; Brandon Van Walraven; Amber Kent; Samantha Milburn; Christen James; Jeff Wingfield; Rob Wingfield; Rick Wingfield; Katie Ketner-Fasulo; Cameron Ketner Wiseman; and Emilee Larsen.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for July 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT. We invite Megan’s friends and close friends of the family to join us in celebrating Megan’s precious life and mourning her passing.
