Maye Deason

September 11, 1924 — April 2, 2020

Maye Wayman Deason              Age  95
Died on Thursday, April 2nd 2020 at her home in West Jordan, Utah
She was born Violet Mae Wayman on September 11th, 1924 in Logan, Utah to Violet Jessop and Clarence Oather Wayman.
She grew up in Utah and that was where she met and then married her sweetheart, Henry H. Deason, who was a soldier in the Army Air Corp, on September 4th, 1943 and began what was a beautiful and devoted lifelong life together.
Mom is survived by four of her six children: Larry Wayman Deason, Susan Marsha Deason (Sam Oliver), Richard Keith Deason (Agnes Olsen Deason), and Cynthia Ann Deason Yazzie, her daughter-in-law Alice Lee (Tom Lee), eight amazing grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Jerald Clarence Deason and Michael Grover Deason, as well as the love of her life and sweetheart Henry H. Deason.
Mom was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Her biscuits and banana pudding won’t ever be able to be copied. She loved to sew. She made all her own clothes and lovingly made many quilts, afghans and priceless other things for loved ones throughout her life. She loved to read, and continued to do so for quite some time, even after losing most of her sight to macular degeneration. She also loved to play cards, anyone who played with her knew she played for blood. In her final years she loved to travel and wanted to go as much and as often as she could. As long as she had a warm sweater and her blanket she was happy to go just about anywhere. Mom never turned anyone away. Much like her mother and grandmother before her, she always shared what she had. The one thing Mom loved most in this world was being surrounded by her family. Her greatest desire was for everyone to love one another. There was nothing that made her smile more than visits from her beloved grandchildren.
The world will never be the same without our sweet Granny in it. We will never forget her beautiful smile, the way she loved her flowers and her See’s chocolates. We are grateful and comforted that she has been reunited with her boys and loving husband again. We will miss her beyond words until we are lucky enough to meet again someday. We love you!
