Maxine Averett, loving wife, mother,  grandmother and great-grandmother passed away early on December 22, 2018.  She was born on December 27, 1927 in Nephi, Utah to Harry and Launa Kendall.  She was the youngest of three daughters.  She attended South High School. Maxine married Clyde M Averett on March 15, 1945 while Clyde was on a weekend leave while serving in the Air Force.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 17, 1945.  Clyde and Maxine were able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary prior to his passing. Maxine and Clyde developed special friendships that lasted over 40 years with monthly dinner parties, lasting way into the early morning.  They loved going to live productions at Hale Theater and Promise Valley Playhouse. They both were avid University of Utah crimson club fans attending both football and basketball games for 25 + years.
One of her favorite things to do was to take her grandchildren to Chuck-A-Rama.  She loved spending time with her family.  Many Christmas Santa would be making his appearance on Christmas Eve during the family party. She built a cabin with her sweetheart in 1979 so that her family could spend many treasured weekends and holidays together.
Maxine worked at Sears part-time while raising her daughters.  After her children were all raised, she worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the magazine department.
