Maxine Cameron Marcusen

July 16, 1925 — April 9, 2016

Maxine Cameron Marcusen, daughter, sister, beloved mother, aunt, cherished grandma and true friend died on April 9, 2016. She was born July 16, 1925 at home in Malta, Idaho to Hazel Mae Buchanan and Bert Cameron. She was reared in Rupert, Idaho. She attended and received her RN degree from St. Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho in May 1946. After WWII she met Peter Boyd Marcusen in Ogden, Utah, where he was an air traffic controller and she worked at St. Benedict’s Hospital.  They were married on December 7, 1947 in Rupert, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized and family sealed in the Bountiful Temple on May 26, 2001. She lived an honorable and exemplary life.
She retired from the VA Hospital with 20 years of dedicated service.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings. Her husband, Pete passed in 2001. She leaves behind a sister, Elsie Gular of Rupert, Idaho; 4 daughters and 2 sons: Nancy, Scott (Carol Pyper), Linda (Gary Petersen), Kristine (David Homma), Diana (Craig Haslam), and Thomas (Marie Petersen); 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So Redwood Rd., West Jordan, Utah.  There will be visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the funeral service and a graveside service directly after.
