“Life of the Party”
Our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle passed away March 26, 2014 in Delta, UT. Born October 3, 1928 in Williamsport, PA to Ralph McCollin and Geraldine “Dotty” Stroup Ferrara. His family moved to Salt Lake City to manage the Hogle Zoo where he spent much of his youth. He remembered fondly his pet donkey, Peanut. Max attended Granite High School and later went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Max met and married the love of his life, MarJean Willden, in 1959. He was a motor coach operator for Lewis Bros. Stages and Le Bus. Max enjoyed fishing and dropping a coin in Wendover. He had an outgoing personality and was very entertaining with his gift of gab. Survived by his wife of 55 years, MarJean; children, Dennis (Teresa) Dutson, Cris (Lyle) Kump, and Susan (Ed) Edwards; siblings, Dick and Gerry; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sons, Curt and Bruce; brother, Joe.
