Max H. Sorensen

September 9, 1929 — February 19, 2017

Max H. Sorensen returned to his heavenly father on February 19, 2017. He was born on September 9, 1929 in Spring City, Utah to Leo Myron Sorensen and Amanda Hannah Sahlberg Sorensen. His childhood years were spent in Spring City where he farmed with his family. He worked for Deseret Livestock. Max served in the Korean War from Feb 20th, 1951 until February 7th, 1953. After returning from service he worked for the Murray Smelter and Interstate Brickyard.
He met his sweetheart, Beverly Jean Jensen and was married December 4th, 1953 and later sealed in the Jordan River LDS Temple.
Max’s greatest happiness was found in spending time with his family. Max was known for his tender heart and his ability to love everyone.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Sorensen; his children: Jolene (Richard) Butterfield, Bruce Sorensen, Wayne (Pam) Sorensen; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 23rd from 6-8 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, and then again one hour prior at the church. Funeral service will be Friday, February 24th at 11:00 AM at the Winder 13th Ward, 4350 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City. Interment will follow at Spring City Cemetery, Spring City, Utah.
