Matthew John Vander Meyden “Vader”, age 40, of Salt Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2024.
Matt was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 5, 1984, to Jeffrey and Lesa Vander Meyden. Even as a child Matt was multifaceted and had many talents. As he was growing up it became evident that he would become an artist. His artistic talent was extensive, unique, and powerful. Matt poured his heart and soul into his art. His artistic creations in combination with the continuing love of his family and the people he met throughout his journey, will carry his memory on through the end of time.
Matt was a force. Positive and passionate. Matt’s heart was always full of love; love for people, art, and nature. He was truly at peace when spending time in the great outdoors. Another amazing quality he possessed was his ability to turn the simplest activity into a “grand adventure.” He has given us so many memories and it is up to us to cherish them.
His sense of humor was infectious, and his smile cannot, and will not be forgotten.
Matthew is survived by his parents Jeffrey and Lesa Vander Meyden, siblings; Nickolas (Nicole) Vander Meyden, Jessica (Chris) Wavle, Danniel Vander Meyden, Tanner Nunley, Dallas Nunley, Niece; Morgan Vander Meyden, Nephews; Collin Vander Meyden and Sawyer Wavle, Grandma; Nancy Curtis, Grandparents; John and Candie Vander Meyden, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including Kristina Wright.
