Matthew Keoki Lange

On May 20 1969, a special seedling a mere sapling sprouted to become a spiritual giant and mighty Kauri Tree in the forest of life. Born to parents Maureen Connor and James George Lange in Palo Alto California, Matthew Keoki Lange was destined to be special beyond measure. Matthew grew his powerful branches reaching for the light and knowledge that would sustain his life.  He explored the skies learning to fly while an Air Cadets in North Carolina eventually submersing his passion in an F16.  The earth called him to break and train horses.  His sun kissed face felt the warmth of waves in the ocean as he traveled with family to Hawaii often where his rich heritage of Hawaiian/Chinese uncovered the elements of music and motion.
As the moments unwound into years, Matthew journeyed to distant places and touched the lives of those found along his path seeking shelter from the rain; often healing them, whilst others needed the support of kneeling in prayer, guidance, friendship, a listening ear, serving and offering a helping hand even when boughs and limbs were beyond repair.
In the quiet morning hours of October 9, 2016, Matthew Keoki Lange drew his last breath falling to the earth having completed his mission, called home to the presence of our Heavenly Father. There I am sure he found solace from the debilitating pain that riddled his body 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with little relief.  As he would joke, I am not a 7-11 store open 24/7.  Matthew’s sense of humor, faith in the savior, positive “I am not taking this lying down” attitude and support from friends and family sustained him through a 3-year battle of a rare illness.
A special thanks to the Doctors, Home Health Team, Specialty Pharmacy, Nurses at IHC and many other facilities who tirelessly researched, tested and cared for Matthew. Your dedication gave him more time he would not otherwise have.
Matthew survived by Michelle Elizabeth Lange, Peyton Lane, Maureen Conner, Kathy Halverson, Maile Gurganus, Tawnya Lange, Kaitlyn Lange, Rebecca Lange, Benjamin Lange, Christina Prescott, Alyssia Lloyd, Taylor Lloyd, Makenzie Prescott, Levi Prescott, Korbyn Lane, Lukas and Evelyn Heiner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Holladay Memorial Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay. If you would like to send flowers please send them to Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive, Holladay Utah 84117.
