Matthew “Bud” Brent Wayman
March 3, 1976 — May 4, 2019
Our loving husband, son, and brother Matthew (Bud) Brent Wayman passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2019. He was born March 3, 1976 to Brent and Tove Wayman, grew up with many cousins and friends in Sandy, Utah and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Bud graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1994. He worked for his father Brent in his contracting business, Ebay, Salt Lake County Library, and attended the University Of Utah. He met the love of his life Melissa Wehunt in 2000 and they were married September 9th, 2010. He adored his two puppies Tor and Sammie, as well as drawing, reading, hiking, and investing. Bud was generous to a fault, always giving to anyone who needed his help, whether it be family or friends. If you were stranded on the roadside or in the grocery store line, Bud was there with extra gasoline or an extra buck to help out. Everyone who knew Bud came to appreciate his vivacious persona. He will be remembered for his gentle, kind spirit. He could light up a room with his big personality and it was a joy to be in his presence.
In his day to day life, Bud was a chill guy who liked to stay home with his dogs, family, and veg out in his “soft pants.” He preferred cereal and tomato sandwiches to real food, and had an immense sweet tooth (he was currently really into gummy bears). He loved learning, reading, and talking about things he found interesting—currently, his passions were the stock market, the economy, and business in general. He was looking forward to putting his “hard pants” back on and going back to school this summer so he could be a “real boy.”
Bud is survived by his wife, Melissa; mother, Tove; and sister, Kristen. He was preceded in death by his father Brent. His kind and generous spark will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Please come join us to say your farewells and to share stories and fond memories.Service Information
