MaryAnn Webster died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from natural causes in Layton, Utah. Surrounded by her family, she slipped away to join her husband whom she has missed dearly for the last 10 years. MaryAnn was born on September 17, 1930 to John Sanford Hemming and Ruth Pauline Hemming in Salt Lake City, Utah. She met and fell in love with Weldon Larsen Webster. They were married in December 1948 in Preston, ID. They were blessed with three children: Eileen Caldwell of Eagle Mountain, Patricia Ann Nalder (husband Scott) of Layton, and John Denton Webster (wife Gina) of Riverton. MaryAnn was grandma to 20 grandchildren, “Little Grandma” to 38 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren with 4 more great-great grandchildren on the way. MaryAnn spent many years working as a “lunch lady” with the students at Butler Elementary in Cottonwood Heights. She perfected those classic “lunch lady” peanut butter bars from scratch that everyone loves. MaryAnn was an avid reader. Her favorite topic was anything about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. From doctrinal books to LDS fiction, she loved it all. She was always learning new aspects of the gospel. MaryAnn also enjoyed cross-stitch, caring for her family, watching sports on TV and cheering on her two favorite teams, the Utah Jazz and BYU. She also took great pride in homemaking and keeping her home clean. She always had toasted cheese sandwiches with salt & pepper, a fridge full of soda drinks and some Keebler Soft Batch Cookies to share when family would come to visit. MaryAnn loved spending time with her family. They were her greatest source of happiness. Family vacations, parties and dinners were her way to gather those she loved most around her. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, three brothers and other relatives and loved ones.
