Mary Kathryn Riches Parry, 84, passed away February 28th, 2024.
Mary was born on August 29th, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Milton William Riches and Katherine
Ellen Brimhall. On May 6th, 1955, she married Walter Hale Parry.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved big family
gatherings. She enjoyed hugging, holding, and reading to children. Her hobbies included bottling
fruit, making jam, and baking bread. Mary put together genealogy, and family photo albums. She
was an excellent seamstress and loved to create quilts, baby clothing, theater costumes, prom
dresses, mountain man clothing, wedding dresses, and temple clothing. Mary was a member of the
Daughters of The Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the local book club, which she loved. Mary
was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was known for
helping others and unconditional love for all.
Mary is survived by her Husband Walter Parry; her sisters Jean (Jack) Becker, Dorothy (Kieth)
Wagoner, Janet (Roger) Atkinson, Carol (Tom) Ketterer, Tami Riches, Amy (Joe) Mugavero; Her 10
children- Lorin (Zelma) Parry, Kathryn (Rod) Park, Melina (Louis) Price, Naoma (Shane) Stevenson,
Joyce (Jim) Anderson, Mary Beth (Alan) Stern, Rachel (Paul) Harvey, Jared (Renee) Parry, Owen
Parry, Clarissa (Rick Bunn) Woodcox Grandchildren- Brandon, Karen, Krista, Nathan, Rose,
Chandra, Carlos, Dustin, Becca, Miranda, Megan, Mariah, Andrew, Jerome, Jeni, Dusty, Jarel, Mel,
Jande, Jasmine, Jarret, Courtney, James, Mckay, Cami, Matthew, Xandie, Becca, Chris, Brin, Tara,

Mary is preceded in death by her parents William and Ellen Riches; her in-laws Herbert and Clara
Parry; Her brother Jim Riches; Her grandchildren Lorne Parry, Melanie Burrage, and Archer
Anderson.

A funeral service for Mary will be held on March 4th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Stake Center on
9894 South, 2700 West, South Jordan, Utah 84095.
A graveside will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery on 6500 South Redwood Road in West
Jordan, Utah.
