Mary Lurae Carter Johnson

Mary LuRae Carter Johnson passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Centerville, Utah age 91. She was born May 16, 1927 in Provo, Utah, to Raymond Crawley Carter and Fannie Louise Irons. She married Paul Emil Johnson on June 3, 1947.
Mary loved to read and spend time knitting, crocheting, doing embroidery, needlepoint and quilting. She served in the Salt Lake Temple for 13 years along with Paul. Mary also worked for Auerbach’s for many years.
Mary is survived by her children, Pamela Johnson-Bennett, Susan (Rolan) Carr, Dorene (Mike) Thomas, Pauline (Mike) Peery, Steven (Kathleen) Johnson and David (Melanie) Johnson; 2 sisters, Elaine Haake and Anita Carpenter. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, a grandchild: Kevin Bennett, and 2 great-grandchildren: William Thomas and Ammon Haag.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 am with a viewing at 10:00 am prior to services at the Lake View Ward, 1450 North Main Street, Centerville, Utah. Interment will be at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, Utah.
