Obituary for Mary Kristen Pierson Lewis, age 77. Died on September 21, 2024 in Provo, Utah. She was born on March 24, 1947 in San Diego California. She married Eric Wayne Lewis on June 19, 1971 in the Los Angeles, California Temple.
Kristy loved her family. She also loved learning, traveling and gardening. She had a gift of always looking on the bright side, with gratitude, which always gave her the opportunity to serve anyone she met. Kristy has a testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement.
She served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Primary President and Stake Missionary.
Kristy was always involved in her community. She was a Den mom in Cub Scouts, 4H project leader, and Girl Scout Leader. She studied Elementary Ed at BYU in Provo, Utah and taught 4th and 5th grade for two years in Northern California. Kristy had a gift for teaching.
Her dad, Donald met Wayne when he was the regional director at Bank of America in Redlands, California, where he worked, and introduced them. They quickly fell in love and were happily married for 53+ years.
While raising her children, Kristy returned to school to finish her Certificate in Special Education and substitute taught K-6, ESL and SPED.
In their later years, after all their kids were married, Kristy and Wayne served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the São Paulo Brazil North Mission-Perpetual Education Fund and a second mission at the American Fork Employment Center in American Fork, Utah.
Kristy is survived by her husband, their 5 children (Katie, Robert, Laura, David and Rachel) and their spouses, 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandbaby. And loved by her five sisters, (Patricia, Laurie, Bonnie, Shirley and Betsy) and their children and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held for immediate family on September 27th followed by a Celebration of Life at the local church.
