Mary Leak

June 14, 1916 — April 8, 2015

Mary Abigail Lott Leak, age 98 passed away at the Cottonwood Creek Assisted Living Center on April 8, 2015. She was born June 14, 1916 to Bernard Darrow Lott and Della Jacobs Lott in Lehi, Utah. She spent the first years of her life growing up and attending school in Lehi.
When Mary was 10 years old, hard times came to the family of 11. She moved with her family to Chinook, Montana, where her dad found employment with the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company. She graduated from Chinook High School during the depression.
In 1938 she met and married John R. Leak. They were married in Great Falls, Montana, July 2, 1938. Their marriage was sealed in the Logan Temple in 1955. Most of John’s employment was with the Utah Idaho Sugar Co. John and Mary lived in Chinook, MT, Renton, WN, Toppenish, WN and Salt Lake City, UT.
They had three children, two daughters and a son. Mary enjoyed being a homemaker; never working outside the home. She loved growing roses along the backyard fence. She was a terrific cook and her home was always welcoming to family and friends.
Mary was an active member of the LDS church and had a testimony of her Savior. Her husband, John passed away in 1991. She is survived by her three children, Sandra, (Jack) Bond, Rexburg, ID; Margaret Sales, Salt Lake City, UT; Jay (Ann) Leak, Blue Springs, MO; twelve grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; a brother, H. Dick Lott.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive. Viewing will be one hour prior to service atthe mortuary.Interment, Lehi City Cemetery. Memories may be shared at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
