Mary Dawn Fannin Wade passed away suddenly at her home from Cardiac Tamponade on May 11th 2022.
Mary lived her life loving everyone she came in contact with and giving of her time and talents. Mary was
born July 28th 1954 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Milo and Donna Fannin (Myers). When Mary was just two years
old, her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. The Family lived in the Murray area until Mary was a young
teenager. Her family then moved to Arizona for nine short months. They moved back to Utah to the
Cottonwood Heights area. Mary met Ken Wade when she was just 14 years old and started dating him a few
years later. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1972.
Mary and Ken were married May 26th, 1972 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mary had
many church callings throughout her life but her absolute favorite calling was being the Sunbeam teacher to
all the cute young children. She often said those cute kids kept her young and always laughing. Mary had
so many amazing talents throughout her life. She found a love of sewing when in High school and would
often make her and her sister Jan’s dance dresses. She loved sewing and probably didn’t know that it was
going to be a lifelong hobby and joy for her. Her sewing talents will be greatly missed by all of her friends
and customers that she gained throughout her life. Mary’s other amazing talents included cooking and
canning. Mary was taught by her mom to cook with whatever they already had in the house. Mary could
look in a pantry and fridge and make the most amazing dishes without a recipe. Mary loved to can and
make grape juice. Mary loved people, she didn’t care who you were, she just loved getting to know
everyone. She loved to make every person she came in contact with know they were loved.
Mary and Ken had five children-Chad, Brad, Ben, Jenny, and Sara. Mary’s dedication as a mother was above
and beyond. She was always involved in every aspect of each and every one of her children’s lives. Mary
loved her children and as she became the beloved Nanny, her role became even stronger. She showed each
of her grandchildren how loved and important they were to her.
Mary endured many trials throughout her life and she always got back up and continued to seek Heavenly
Father’s love. The losses of her siblings and her son Chad left levels of sadness that only could be healed
through the love of Jesus Christ.
Mary and Ken were married for 43 years and later divorced but remained amicable through the years. Mary
loved dancing to her oldies and would get so excited when a favorite song would come on the radio. She is
now Dancing in Heaven with all of the loved ones she’s missed for so long. Mary will be greatly missed, her
love and legacy of life will forever be stamped in all of our hearts.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents: Milo (father), Donna (mother), Jan (sister), Mike (brother), and
Chad (son).
