Mary Atkinson Powell

Mary Atkinson Powell, age 85, passed away on March 23, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on August 3, 1936 in Woods Cross, Utah to Lawrence Guy & Elsie Naomi Atkinson. She married David Powell.
Mary worked at St. Mark’s Hospital and retired from there when she was able. She loved to make bean, ham and cauliflower soup. She loved her family and the simple things in life. She loved to listen to the Tabernacle Choir and country music. Mary always did things her way.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby (Melvin) Pratt and her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Francis Powell, her parents, Lawrence Guy & Elsie Naomi Atkinson, her brothers: Roy (Mary) Atkinson, Carl (Viona) Atkinson, Jay (Sherri) Atkinson, Joe Atkinson, Keith Atkinson and Jim Atkinson, and her sisters: Lucille (Harold) Potter, Dawn (John) Finley, Ruth (Mike) Michaels and Margie (Calvin) Maron.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary at the same address one hour prior.
