Mary Ann Royal

Logan Utah-Mary Ann Royal, age 72, passed away Friday July 31, 2015 after her long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 21, 1942 in Altonah, Utah to the late Anthony Clark Reay (Chub) and Veva Marie Reay. She was raised on a farm in this small town until the age of 17 when she moved to Salt Lake City and met her first and only love Gus Royal. They were married in June 1962 and together they raised their two daughters Sherri and Cathy. Mary Ann spent most her life working as a seamstress and retired from Mountain Cork about three years ago. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. She was most passionate about her family and was the thread that held us all together. She was compassionate, selfless and humble. She always found goodness before weakness. She was always the confidant because her wisdom was real. She is survived by her daughter Sherri Housley and spouse Paul; her daughter Cathy Orullian and spouse Peter. Also survived by grandchildren Ryan, Aaron, Shayden, Cheyenne and Alex. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband Gus and grandson Rodney Tyler. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 6th at 11 am. Viewings will be held on Wednesday August 5th from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 am. All services will be at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A special thank you to the Intermountain Hospice team for their kindness and compassionate care.
