Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Allen, 90, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at her home in Salt Lake City. She is now reunited with her parents, Deloy and Mary Olsen; daughter, Teresa Allen; grandson, Shane Poulson; sisters, Donna Quinn and Thelma Coyner and many extended family and friends.
She was born and raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School.
She married Max Leon Allen in 1945 in Oakland California, later divorced in 1957.
She had an adventurous childhood. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father and showed that love by the way she lived her life. She loved Nat King Cole music, reading, her family, her cats, sweets and making many friends along her way in life. She loved to give gifts and would always remember birthdays and anniversaries as well as all the holidays. She enjoyed decorating her home for every holiday with Halloween being one of her favorites.
Some of her favorite things were the color gold, clocks, mirrors and angels.
She is survived by her children, Max (Janeen) Allen, Sherrie Crosby, Debbie (Wayne) Poulson, Janeice Underwood, Greg (Wendy) Boisjolie; brothers, Jack (Joy) Olsen, Melvyn (Rose) Olsen; and 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a grandchild of her heart, Lois (Williamson) Miller.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to First Choice Hospice and Deseret Medical for their support in her final days.
Funeral service will be held at at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 E Bengal Blvd (7800 So.), Cottonwood Heights, Utah at 11:00 am on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018. Viewing will take place one-hour prior at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.Service Information
