Marvin Perea

On July 4, 2018 our amazing family patriarch, Marvin Perea, celebrated his holiday with his family in Heaven. He fought hard to stay here with us, but the Lord called him home. Marvin was born July 14, 1943 in Dulce, New Mexico to Presentacion and Maria Juanita Perea. He joined the US Army in 1965, married his love, Inez Gallegos Perea on October 19, 1968 and retired from working at Kennecott Copper Mine after 34 years. Marvin loved to be outdoors. Whether it was up in the mountains, out at a car show, or just enjoying the humming birds on his patio, he was content. Marvin absolutely loved cars. His show cars and being a member of Jesters Car Club has been his passion, only second to his love for his family, and sweet golden retriever, Daisy.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Inez, sons Troy Presley (Jackie) and Christopher Marvin (Jessica), his granddaughters, Macayla and Kaylee, brothers and sisters: Truiva (Ralph) Calvillo, Liz Lanford, Thelma Villalobos, Jack (Reggie), Press Junior (Marjeania), Ruben, Fred (Sue), Berlynn (Floyd) Duncan, Karen (Mario) Cisneros. Marvin will be dearly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and everyone he made smile.
Marvin was preceded in death and has now joined his family already in heaven, infant son Lance Marvin, nephew Rich Hodges, son Brian, father Presentacion, sister Stella Tafoya, brother-in-law Harvey Lanford, mother Maria Juanita.
Wash the car, shine the dash, and let’s celebrate Marvin in style. A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 11th at 6pm-8pm at Redwood Memorial Estates, Thursday July 12th at 12 noon with a Celebration Service Thursday 1pm at Redwood Memorial Estates 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan UT 84123. Interment is to follow the funeral services at the same location.
