Marvin L. Steadman
“Serving with a Smile”
Our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather passed away January 3, 2016. Marvin was the eighth of ten children born to Walter T. and Mary Nora Larsen Steadman on April 26, 1924in Bennion, Utah.
Marvin married Lou Jean Blake on August 5, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple, and they are the parents of eight children. Lou Jean passed away November 24, 2010. Marvin married Doris Bailey on February 15, 2012.
Marvin was a dedicated, hard-working farmer and was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including Bishop, Counselor in a bishopric and stake presidency, and High Councilman. He enjoyed his family, farming, animals, gardening, serving, and making others happy. He will be remembered for his happy smile.
Marvin is survived by his wife Doris, and his children: Brent Steadman; Wayne (Marie) Steadman; Marva Jean (Kevin) Anderson; Lynn (Susan) Steadman; LaVon (Danny) Allen, Glen (Lori) Steadman; Jolene (Ted) Berrett; Kaylene Garrett; 31 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Miriam Erickson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, four sisters, four brothers, and great-granddaughter, Brielle Workman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Bennion Stake Center, 6250 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, UT. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan and also at the church on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.Service Information
