Marty W Mascarenaz

Martin “Marty” William Mascarenaz, 64, of Taylorsville, Utah, passed peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was welcomed with open arms by his son, Brandon, mother, Tomasita, father, Ernest and brothers, Candy and Lawrence. He was born February 18, 1956 in Ogden, UT at McKay Dee Hospital to Tomasita and Ernest Mascarenaz. He married his sweetheart and love of his life, Jolene Henline on March 31, 1979.
All that knew Marty, knew him as a man of virtue. Dad was an incredibly selfless man, who always put the needs of others before his own. He was caring, hardworking, dedicated to his family, and had a smile and laugh that was unmistakable. The pride and joy of his life was always his grandchildren. Papa always made sure their time with him was special and that they were always spoiled. One of his favorite memories was our family fishing trips to Strawberry where most of his time was spent untangling our lines or baiting our hooks, but he loved every minute. He was an accomplished craftsman and enjoyed woodworking, with some of his most cherished works being the dressers he built for his grandchildren. Marty retired from the Granite School District’s Carpentry Department after 25 years of service with the previous 20 years spent in the roofing industry.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jolene; sons, Jared (Courtney), Jason (Chrissy) and Kyle; grandchildren, Kylie, Makena, Jackson and Addison; sisters, Tina Rose, Mona Calder, Olive Campos, Susan (Andy Nelson) and Eleanore (Burt Bennett).
He is preceded in death by his father Ernest W. Mascarenaz, mother Tomasita A. Mascarenaz, son Brandon Mascarenaz, brothers Candido Mascarenaz and Lawrence Mascarenaz.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 21 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, located at 5850 South 900 East, Murray, UT 84121. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 22 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.
