Martiny Kyzer

Martiny Emo Kyzer passed away at the age of 85 on June 24, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee where she lived for the last 20 years with her daughters and family. She was born on October 29, 1929 in Utrecht, Holland the fifth of six sisters. She was named after her father Martinus Emo who was a florist by trade.
She immigrated to Utah with her sisters and mother in 1950 after converting to the Mormon Church. In 1954, she married Johnny Lee Richard Kyzer who met her in a department store she worked in and swept her off her feet.
Living in Salt Lake City and then Long Beach, California she had many loves including collecting dolls, Kewpies, blue plates and novelties of which she amassed a huge collection. She loved talking about and collecting things of her native Holland and relished in the Dutch foods and the singing of multiple Dutch songs. She was self taught on the piano and could play anything you liked just by listening. She also loved playing the harmonica.
She is survived by her sister Anna Emo Vander Veur, 92 and her children Joyce, Richard, Danny and Nancy as well as eleven grandchildren and two great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her father Martinus Emo, her mother Sietske Ket Emo, her husband Johnny Kyzer and her beloved sisters Alida Dirkmaat, Sietske Sophia Howard, Catharina Quinn and Mitzie Van Schelt.
The viewing and funeral will be Tuesday, June 30th in Sandy, Utah at the Canyon View Stake Center located at 9115 South 1300 East. The viewing is at 9 am and funeral at 10 am. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery at 6500 Redwood Road. There will be a luncheon back at the church at 1pm.
