Martha Mary Luton Lingard, 88, passed away November 7, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by family. She was born March 23, 1925, in Pasquatank County, NC. She was the daughter of John Herbert Luton and Gladys Urso Keaton Luton. She was a member of the LDS Church. She served a mission to the Central Atlantic States. She married David Dunford Lingard Oct. 8, 1949. She was a talented homemaker and raised 9 children, never raising her voice in anger. She was a calm, peaceful woman and a beautiful, elegant friend. She served missions with her beloved David in Mexico, Guatemala and Florida.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, daughter Rebecca, daughter-in-law Linda, granddaughter Kasia, and 3 great-grandchildren. Survived by her children: Craig & Karen, Robert & Rebecca, Paul & Kristine, John & Jeanne, Rachel & Roger Bennett, Marianne & Kevin Wardle, Carlos & LaDawn, Eric & Annette, Reina & Quinton Kay; sisters Ann, Mattie Marie; 44 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay 14th Ward, 4917 Viewmont Dr, Holladay. A viewing will be held Thursday, Nov. 14 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Dr., and 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church.
