Martha Helen Rodriguez (Smith)

Martha Helen Rodriguez (Smith), age 87 passed away on Monday July 19, 2021 in Herriman Utah.

Martha was born to Needham and Emma Smith in Tarrytown, Georgia on November 26, 1933. She was the middle child and only girl of seven children. She graduated from Vidalia Highschool. She met and married her sweetheart, Eliseo (Al) Rodriguez after moving to Salt Lake City, Utah and they married on October 6, 1962. They had three children together Andrew, Jonathan, and Matthew. She worked customer service at United Airlines and Eastern Airlines then Discover card. She was also the corporate travel director for American Stores company. Martha was an avid reader and loved movies, but she loved being a grandma most of all. She and Al enjoyed travelling and went as often as they could, seeing most of the states as well as parts of Europe and Mexico. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed her time there with friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Al, middle son Jon, and three of her brothers. She is survived by her oldest son Andrew, youngest son Matthew (Barbara), and two grandchildren Dominic and Tomas, as well as three of her brothers. She will be laid to rest with her husband and son at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary in Cottonwood Heights Utah. An open house in her memory will be held at the home of Matthew and Barbara Rodriguez on Sunday August 1, 2021 at 12448 S. Luzerne Ct. Herriman, Utah from 6:30-8:30 pm.
