Marlys Jane Leean Trask

Marlys Jane Leean Trask passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 81. Marlys was born on January 25, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married David V. Trask on June 25, 1958.
Marlys graduated from the University of Minnesota and taught 4th grade in the Osseo (MN) school district. She obtained her master’s degree in Media from the University of Utah and retired from Granite School District, (UT) as a Media Coordinator. She had a true zest for living and participated in many activities including: Campfire Girls, Phi Mu Society, several decades square dancing, round dance calling, several choirs, PTA, lifetime GS member, representative on Resident Council at Cottonwood Creek Senior Living.
She is survived by husband, David (Adrienne) Trask; children: Valorie (Michael) Downs, Brian (M.J.) Trask and Renae (John) Schwartz; and grandchildren: Melinda and Jeffrey Downs, Robert and Daniel Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, LeRoy & Edith L. Leean, brother, Donald E. Leean and son, Loren S. Trask.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 12 at 1:00 pm at the Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive with a visiting from noon until 12:45 PM. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at Holladay Memorial Park. Memories may be shared at www.memorialutah.com
