Marlene Umbarger Evans

Marlene Umbarger Evans passed away April 21, 2023 at age 87 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born March 7, 1936 in Greenville, Texas to Mearl and Frank Umbarger. She married Ross Evans July 4, 1963.
Marlene loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to her semi-annual trip home to Greenville, Texas. Visiting her brother and sister was a highlight of her days. Marlene enjoyed traveling to Wendover with her good friends. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Pamela L. Evans; son, Ross LeRoy Evans II; granddaughter, Ashlie (Deven) Ransom; Jeremy, Heather (Chris) Merritt; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Vaughn, Beckam, Adrianne, Carter; sisters, Polly (Charles John) Adams, Louise (Mike) Roberts; sister-in-law, Jean Umbarger.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross LeRoy; parents, Mearl & Frank Umbarger; brother, Bill Umbarger; sisters, Frances Umbarger and Wanda Umbarger; great-grandson, Carter.
An open house will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
