Mark David Woodbrey
A big man with a bigger heart was born to Dennis and Terry Woodbrey on April 19th, 1977. Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed on March 6th, 2017.
He was an avid gamer and played with his dear family and friends all across the world. Often being the leader in adventures that spanned from building villages, raising dinosaurs and killing zombies; to racing, outer space and slaying dragons. His online friends were an important part of his life and he cherished them deeply.
In the other reality, Mark lived at home with his parents to help with projects, yard work, snow shoveling and the multitude of things that come up daily. He provided in-home care for them through ailments and surgery recoveries. Always sacrificing his own time to help his two best friends with whatever they needed.
Mark was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He was ready with bear hugs and humor, car keys or a shared Dr. Pepper (the Dr Pepper was shared only provided he had an adequate supply; there must be a line drawn somewhere). He enjoyed adventures with his family to museums, parks, arcades and aquariums. He was a collector of Hot Wheels and held an inventory in the thousands; he still played with them with anyone that would join in. Mark always looked forward to time with his fiancé, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He loved them all dearly.
Mark didn’t believe in awkward moments. Those were seen as opportunities to crack a joke. He was full of antics and enjoyed being silly and making those around him laugh until they snorted. It was nearly impossible to resist him.
He will be missed by all of those who knew him until we meet with him again.
He is survived by his loving parents Dennis and Terry Woodbrey; fiancé Cassandra Goodwin; his siblings Paul (Tracy) Woodbrey, Rebecca (Timothy) Powell, and May (Steve) Tedrow; his adored nieces and nephews David Powell, Lyndsay Woodbrey, Morgan Woodbrey, John Tedrow and Norma Tedrow; and his great nephew Jeremy Powell.
Services will be held at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary (3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121) on Wednesday March 15th, 2017. The viewing will be from Noon to 1:45pm with funerary services starting at 2PM and graveside services to follow. A late luncheon will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (3836 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT 84120) at 4:30pm.
