CENTERVILLE – Mark Kay Hepworth, 71, passed away on November 9, 2024. He was born on April 18, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Adrian Kay and Helen Hepworth.
Mark met the love of his life, Janet Forslin, at work, and they married in 1975. Together, they built two homes—one in Woods Cross and another in Centerville—and shared a life full of adventure and family. They cherished summer camping trips and attending family reunions, always finding joy in spending time together. As their family grew, holidays became a special time for bringing everyone together, creating lasting memories. Mark and Janet were a true example of commitment and loyalty, navigating life’s ups and downs with love and resilience.
Mark devoted much of his life to the oil refinery industry, starting as a teenager and retiring from Big West Oil in 2022. Over the course of his career, he gained the respect and admiration of his colleagues as a talented maintenance manager and turnaround supervisor. Known for his quick wit, mischievous nature, and love of practical jokes, Mark brought humor and lightheartedness to the refinery. Despite his playful teasing, he was always a dependable and supportive presence, offering guidance and assistance to anyone in need.
Mark enjoyed the outdoors, activities such as camping, boating, fishing, and hunting. He cherished time spent with his family, particularly at the cabin he built with his dad. Whether camping or boating on the lake with Janet and the girls, or simply relaxing at home with his dogs and watching a good western, horror or sci-fi Movie, Mark found joy in the simple pleasures of life spent with those he loved.
Mark’s memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Janet, their children: Tiffany (and Brian) Hepworth, Summer (and Brandt) Bench, Amanda (and Lee) Davis, Lacey (and Jon) Robertson, his nine grandchildren, Tyson (and Taylor), Shyli (and Michelle), Alex, Ambri (and Vinnie), Ellis, Callum, Halle, Jon and Daphne and sister, Christine Bateman.
A casual graveside service for family and friends will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Memorial Lake View Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Dr., Bountiful.
