Mark Hall Later

June 30, 1958 — August 7, 2020

Mark Hall Later, age 62, died on August 7th, 2020 in Murray Utah at St. Marks Hospital.
He was born June 30, 1958, the fourth in a family of eight children, in Seattle Washington to Ronald and Louise Later and as a young child moved to Alaska with his family. As a young teenager, he moved again with his family to Meridian, Idaho where he graduated from Meridian High School in 1978. At age 20 he served a two-year mission in Sacramento, California Mission.
Mark married his beloved eternal companion Cindy Christiansen in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on February 14th, 1981.  Together they raised a family of three children, Tiffanie, Clinton and Mark.
Mark attended Boise State University and studied law enforcement and was a loyal and enthusiastic Broncos football fan.  He worked at Idaho State Prison and Nashville Prison and Correctional Facilities. He transitioned to private security work and later he “drove truck”, coach buses, and horse-drawn carriages. Mark was certified as a CNA and worked for a retirement home, The Wentworth at Coventry, and made house visits to numerous people with high care needs. He was an avid outdoorsman in his younger years and enjoyed activities with his family such as hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing, and scuba diving. He had an affinity for horses and hosted horse-drawn carriage rides in downtown Salt Lake City for over a decade.  Mark always imagined himself in a classic western movie, living on the frontier.
Mark graced the funny bone of everyone he met. He believed that if he could put a smile on at least one person’s face it would be a good day. He was a loving husband to his wife Cindy and father of three children who he adored. It did not matter how hard things got for him in life, he always provided for his family the best that he could. He is survived by his parents Ronald Dillon and Louise Hall Later, Wife Cindy (Christiansen) Later, and his children Tiffanie Marie Later, Clinton John Later(Sandy), Mark Andrew Later, his siblings Doug Later(Becky), Kevin Later(Louise), Loren Later(Elisa), Ann Campbell(Dan), Kristen Duke(Richard), Sharon Later, and Peter Later(Charlotte), and his 7 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a GoFundMe account to help Mark’s family through a difficult transistion. https://www.gofundme.com/f/23pvc9c2uo?sharetype=teams&member=5282534&utm_medium=email&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&rcid=9918be929d1b4756a6ac57c87b316982)
