Mark Curtis

Mark Christopher Curtis, age 46, returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father on April 27, 2015 in Sandy, Utah. Chris (as most know him by) was born March 29, 1969 to Marsha Bowden and Norman C. Curtis n Hunter, Utah. On March 20, 1987 in West Valley City, Utah, Chris married his childhood sweetheart, Melissa McDonald. Chris and Melissa were blessed with two daughters, Marsha and Desirae, and one son, Kalin. One of Chris’ greatest joys was spending time with his girls, no matter what they were doing. Chris loved hiking with Kalin, collecting rocks so they could polish them, which took months. Family meant everything to him; he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, loving his family unconditionally. He also enjoyed walking his furry little companion, Foxy.
Chris worked as a maintenance man for 20+ years, where he made lasting friendships. At the time of his death Chris was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Wasatch Property Management.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Melissa, his daughters Marsha Curtis, Desirae Curtis, his son Kalin Cook and his granddaughter Ariah Curtis, all of Sandy, Utah. He is also survived by his parents Norman and Merna Curtis; his siblings Todd (Diane) Curtis; Jodi Curtis; Jackie (Mike) Howard; Wayne Dean; Glenna (Todd) Evans; Kelli Curtis (Richard); sister-in-law Kim (Kevin) Brimhall; and Jennifer Augason, who is like a sister to Chris and Melissa, and an aunt to the children. Preceded in death by his Mother; brothers Richard Dean and Jeff Curtis; Sister Lori Curtis; and mother-in-law, Julene McDonald.
A reflection gathering and memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help with funeral expenses.
