Marjorie Marie Beck Mathena

December 5, 1960 — April 18, 2021

Our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Fur Momma, Marjorie Marie Beck-Mathena or Margie as we all loving referred to her, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 18th, 2021.  Margie lived 60 years of life which showed her incredible resilience to the hardships that she encountered, none of which would ever keep her from living her best life.
Margie was born on December 5th, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her parents, Ray and Shirley Beck.  They were thrilled to welcome their third of five children into the world and endeavored to provide her a life that was full of love and understanding.  Margie was a bright and curious child who always wanted to explore and learn more about her surroundings.  Margie graduated with honors from West High School and enjoyed participating in the school’s choir.  After graduation, she had the chance to work for several employers and often spoke highly of her occupations throughout the years.  Margie was also a proud member of the Alliance House in Salt Lake City, Utah, and participated in the various activities they provided, one of which was the opportunity to be a secret sister to many new Alliance members.  Margie was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her faith carried her through both the good and hard times she experienced throughout her life.  Margie loved her human and fur family more than anything in this world.  She often invited her family members to her home for sleepovers, pizza, and swimming parties.
Margie is survived by her mother, Shirley Beck, her siblings Bonnie Jones, Carolee (Doug) Konold, Charlene (Dale) Thorn, Darrell (Lonnie) Beck, her many nieces and nephews, and her sweet cat, Squeakers.  She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Lynn and Mildred Broadhead, and her Father, Ray Beck.
Margie was a light to everyone she met.  She had a way of making everyone around her smile and will be remembered fondly for her contagious laugh.  She was also a pillar of endurance, and regardless of whatever hardships life gave her, she always found a way to rise above any difficulty.  She will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure to know and love her.  Rest well, our sweet Marge; we will hold your memory in our hearts until we meet again.
