Marjorie Fay Ashby Larsen was born Sept. 6, 1927 to Alton Ashby and Ethel Bowthorpe. She spent her first 23 years on McClelland Street in Sugar House. She married her sweetheart A. Gordon Larsen on Sept. 7, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent their early married years in Utah and in 1963 moved to St. Louis, MO while her husband attended dental school. They settled in Pleasanton, CA and spent many happy years there. After retirement they returned to Sandy, Utah.
Marjorie loved serving in the LDS church. She had many church callings including Primary President, Stake Young Women’s Presidency, and Stake and Ward Relief Society Presidents. She also served with her husband in the Prague, Czechoslovakia Mission. Other calling included being a temple worker in the Oakland and Jordan River temples. Probably her greatest joy was being Grandma to eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was happiest when everybody descended on her house for the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon. She is survived by her children, Duane (Diann) Larsen, Cory (Marina) Larsen, Rodney (Diane) Larsen and Christine (Cory) Wofford.
