Marjorie Erickson Hunt

Marjorie Erickson Hunt, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and best friend passed away at the age of 86 on July 30, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 20, 1933 to Herbert Erickson and Dewetta Slater Erickson. At the young age of five, Margie lost both of her parents within three months of each other. She was raised by Frederick and Annie Manning.
She married the love of her life Calvin Hunt on June 4, 1954. Together they raised their five children. Martha, Calvin, Connie, Cheryl and Steve. Margie was bigger than life. She led a fun filled, busy life, supporting her children and grandchildren in all they did. She was always the room mother, team mom, coach and biggest cheerleader ever. Margie had a love for all sports especially when it came to the UTES and Coach Ron McBride. Over the years she had season tickets to the UTES basketball and football games and also the JAZZ.
Margie is survived by her five children, Martha Hunt, Calvin (Jessica) Hunt, Connie Hunt, Cheryl (Glen) Driffill, Steve (Natalie) Hunt, grandchildren; Cali, Cory, McKenna, Lindsy, Jason, Beaude, Heather, Devin, Hagen, Chase, Chad, and Ashley, 14 great grandchildren, one sister Betty Erickson and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Cal, her parents, sisters Tillie, Myra, Doris, Joy, Kate and Hazel, her brothers Herbert, Roy, Richard, Willard, Eugene and Daniel.
The family would like to thank our sister Connie Hunt for the loving care she gave to our mom for the last several years. A special thanks to her sister Betty Erickson and niece Karen Park for their loving care. Mom cherished the many friendships she made in the 15th ward, especially Bonnie and Steven Shaw.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019, from 6 to 8 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, 2:30 PM, with a viewing one hour prior to the service at Memorial Redwood Mortuary.
Mom has requested you come dressed in the University of Utah colors to celebrate her love for the UTES!
