Marjean Taylor

Marjean Preece Pincock Taylor 89, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 29, 2019 in West Jordan, Utah.  Marjean was born December 3, 1929 in Sugar City, Idaho to John Lewis Pincock and Verda Bair Preece Pincock.  She married her high school sweetheart W. Reed Taylor on November 24, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a long time resident of South Salt Lake, where they raised 4 children.  She worked at Southeast Furniture Company, in the purchasing department.  Later, she worked for Granite School District as an office worker at Madison Elementary and then Cottonwood Elementary.  Marjean served with her husband at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building as hostesses. After retirement she and Dad traveled the world with their friends.  She loved to do indexing and would try to do 3,000 names per month. She was a great crocheter making baby hats for newborn babies that were born in the hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley. She also made hot pads for neighbors and friends.  She was always serving others. When she made bread, she would give a loaf or two away.  Marjean is survived by her 4 children, Sheryl (Ron) Greensides, Robyn (Tom) Smith, Keven (Kathy) Taylor, and Julie (Kerry) Bugger, 18 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sisters, Colleen, and Joan. Preceding her in death is her beloved husband Reed, her parents, a sister and a son-in-law.  Marjean always expressed gratitude for a good family.  A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah, as well as from 10-10:45 am prior to the services.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Sycamore Stake Center, 7580 West 7980 South, West Jordan, Utah.
