MARION PETT JIMAS, a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed peacefully through God’s Other Door December 15, 2013. This beautiful soul manifested grace and love to all those she met. She gave companionship and exceptional care to her loving husband in their nearly sixty years of family life together. From this union, Marion and Bob had four children: Nikkie (Fred) Miller, Spokane, Washington; Jim (Mary) Jimas, Salt Lake City, Utah; Barbara Peterson, Columbia, South Carolina; Steve, deceased (Marie) Jimas; ten grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Marion was born September 13, 1922. As a young bride, she worked with Bob in the family business – the Union Drug of Bingham Canyon City, Utah – and later the House of Copper in Leadmine, Utah. Marion loved the “girls” she worked with and the family wants to thank them for their many years of service.
Marion was a wonderful pianist who played cantatas at her church and special community events.
Through her issues of aging and declining health, Marion received exceptional care from the Brian Center in Columbia, South Carolina. The family is so grateful for that care and wishes to give a special and prayerful thanks to the dedicated caregivers at the center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry James Jimas (Bob); son, Steven Robert Jimas; great-grandson, Christopher Ryan Silha; parents, Fern and Florence Pett; three brothers, Fern, Ray, and Lynn Pett.
Services will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Memorial Mortuary & Cemeteries, Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing will start at 10:00am, with the service ceremony beginning at 11:00am. Graveside services will follow. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to The American Heart Association.
