Marina Celia Bayona

March 12, 1957 — January 3, 2022

Our cherished Marina Celia Bayona, 64, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 12, 1957 in Zacatelcoluca, El Salvador to her late parents, Maria Adela Valencia Reyes and Salvador Contreras. After having her two children and marrying her husband Miguel, she moved to Southern California in 1988 to provide a better life for herself, her husband, and children.
She is a natural caregiver and enjoys helping others, so she decided to pursue a career in the medical field. Marina and her husband eventually settled in Utah where she had a successful career as a nurse assistant at St. Marks hospital.
Marina loved her church and cherished her family, friends, and co-workers. She loved spending time with family and cooking for the ones she loved. She especially found light and joy in the quality time she spent with her little Emma, Ella, and Truman. She was a kind, loving, strong, protective, proud, hardworking woman. Her beautiful smile and caring personality will be greatly missed.
Marina is survived by her husband of 42 years, Miguel Angel Bayona, her daughter, Regina Guadalupe Valencia, her son, Miguel Angel Bayona Jr and his wife, Shannon Bayona; seven grandchildren, Jackie Nolasco, Kevin Nolasco, Jazmin Nolasco, Serena Bayona, Gabriel Bayona, Nathaniel Bayona, Julianna Bayona; great granddaughter, Tatiana Perez. She is also survived by her brothers, Pedro Contreras, Julio Mercedes Valencia, Juan Valencia Pena; Sisters, Angela Janette Valencia Pena and Lucia Valencia Pena, as well as her extended Lambourne family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leopoldo Valencia Campos and her sister, Regina Valencia Contreras.
Friends and family will be received at Memorial Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah 84117 at 10:00 a.m. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Marina will be laid to rest at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S. Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117.
