Marina Akanesi Jensen was a deeply loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, best friend, and cousin. Rina was unexpectedly called to the crossroads on March 3rd, 2021.
Rina was a deeply compassionate speaker with an aged soul and a heart that rumbled louder than the world’s oceans crashing the sands. She would speak with deep compassion and invigoration for anything she felt was right. It was impossible to not get lost in the beautiful dialog that would leave you feeling like you just spoke with an angelic like sage.
A very deep passion of Marinas was taking care of her brothers and especially her “twin” Esau. Although some would think it was singing, playing football with the boys, boxing, tau’olunga, basketball, styling her hair or many of the other countless talents she displayed, it was merely making sure her brothers and loved ones were ok inside and out. Constantly on them about their hygiene, rooms, school, and spirit. A childless mother with the deepest love this world was ever blessed to her to feel.
Marina had dreams and aspirations to one day help as many people as she could. Although she could have been the next Beyoncé or the next Lisa Leslie, she genuinely wanted to help teens and children in unfortunate positions. She also had the ability to give a relentless argument when she was determined, naturally, this brought on talks of possibly becoming a lawyer as well. If you got the opportunity to see any of these wonderful displays, you would know that one, if not all these goals were attainable for her.
When you are remembering Rina, remember she would want you to smile through the pain and be the best “you” you can be. Remember her passion for her loved ones and revamp that love and energy into your closest loved ones.
Marina was preceded in passing through by her strong grandfather Paula Moa. She leaves behind two brothers Esau and Carter Jensen; parents Meki Auelua and Luke Jensen; Grandfather Robert Jensen; Grandmother Seini Moa, Shauna McNally, and Ashlee Jensen; Aunties, Nesi Tuiono, Leslie Loamanu, and Jordan Hopkin; Uncles Sione Moa, Ieni Loamanu, Toloa Tuiono, and Scott Hopkin; Many beautiful, strong cousins; every type of linking family member you can think of; Best friends, teachers, and coaches.
A celebration of Marina’s life will be held on Friday, March 12th, and services will be held the following day Saturday, March 13th. Come join us as we say our final farewell to a beautiful soul lost way to soon.
